About
I am a postdoctoral researcher advised by Dr. Wei Li at the University of Florida. I completed my Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods at the University of Pennsylvania and M.A. in Statistics at the Wharton School, where I worked with Drs. Wendy Chan and Michael Gottfried. My research focuses on developing and applying quantitative methods to address questions in education policy, with an emphasis on causal inference and longitudinal study design in urban education settings.
My applied research examines the effects of New York City's Gifted and Talented program and the geographic and demographic disparities in who gains access to it. I also study other specialized educational programs, including special education services, with attention to co-location, where multiple schools or programs operate within the same building in urban school systems. These applied questions motivate my methodological work on causal inference, treatment effect heterogeneity, and how neighborhood and spatial context can be incorporated into longitudinal education research. The goal of this work is to better understand how school systems can expand meaningful educational opportunities for all students.
Previously, I taught third grade at a KIPP charter school and special education at a public school in the South Bronx.
