About
I am a postdoctoral researcher advised by Dr. Wei Li at the University of Florida. I completed my Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods at the University of Pennsylvania and M.A. in Statistics at the Wharton School, where I worked with Drs. Wendy Chan and Michael Gottfried. My research focuses on developing and applying quantitative methods to address questions in education policy, with an emphasis on causal inference and longitudinal study design in urban education settings.
My substantive research examines the effects of New York City's Gifted and Talented program and disparities in access to the program, including how geography shapes access across the city. I have also led empirical studies on the organization of special education services, including New York City's District 75 program for students with the most intensive needs and the co-location of specialized programs within shared school buildings. These applied questions motivate my methodological work on causal inference, treatment effect heterogeneity, and how neighborhood and spatial context can be incorporated into longitudinal education research. The goal of this work is to better understand how school systems can expand meaningful educational opportunities for all students.
Previously, I taught third grade at a KIPP charter school and special education at a public school in the South Bronx.
